Wildflowers Bloom in The Desert (Feb until May)
Anza Borrego Desert State Park is beautified by the full bloom which exists only two
to six weeks. Visitors Center hours are 9am-5pm daily from Oct-Jun 1, weekends only

California State Winter Games (Ice Hockey- February 16-19)
California amateur athletes, from youth to adult, will participate in different winter
sports featuring ice hockey. Figure skating will be held on Feb 28 & 29. Event Locations

Mardi Gras in Hillcrest (Feb 20)
21 years and older Mardi Gras street party. Food, beer, entertainment, beads. University

Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp Quarter (Feb 20)
The celebration of "Fat Tuesday", from 5pm -1am, features a Mardi Gras type parade on
Fifth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter and a fabulous block party featuring several
stages with live music acts. The event goes on rain or shine in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Annual Heritage Day Parade (Feb 24)
Arts, crafts, vendor booths, live entertainment. Parade starts at 49th & Logan

Annual Kumba Fest (Feb 24-26)
A black history month celebration of African-American arts, creativity and

Anniversary California Wildlife Art Festival (Feb 24-25)
For this competition, over 225 top wildfowl and fish carvers with 25 wildlife
