San Diego Summer Fun is Coming!

Spring is in full swing and summer is right around the corner. You can be sure that there will be plenty to do in San Diego, from Memorial Day events to the Rock n Roll Marathon to the yearly San Diego County Fair; America’s Favorite City has something exciting for everyone.

  2005 Coca-Cola Rock 'n' Roll Marathon

On Sunday June 5th, over 20,000 runners will experience San Diego's biggest block party as they run along a new scenic course lined with more than 40 live bands, 2000 spirited high school cheerleaders, 5,000 volunteers and tens of thousands of encouraging spectators. The event is capped off with a premiere headliner concert at the Coors Amphitheatre.

The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon is an event that's not to be missed. The race is billed as 26 miles of rock 'n' roll. This is one of America's fastest and most scenic courses, racing through Balboa Park and by the Pacific Ocean.

San Diego County Fair 2005

"Cinema Summer" is the theme of this year's San Diego County Fair, which kicks off June 10 and runs through July 4. Along with the usual exhibits, farm animals, carnival rides, game booths and greasy food stands, this year's grandstand roster includes Steel Pulse, Hall & Oates, Carrot Top, Kelly Clarkson and a host of others. And, of course, the skies over the fairgrounds will explode in vibrant color come July 4.

Tickets are $11 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 (free for kids 5 and younger) and $6 for seniors 62 and older. On Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., you can pay $25 for a wristband that allows unlimited rides, if your stomach can handle it.
